Swimming Lessons in Niagara
It’s never too early or too late to learn how to swim. Swimming is fun but it is also a life-saving skill that everyone should know regardless of age or gender. To make sure everyone has a good time, it’s important to know how to stay safe and be smart around the water.
Children under 12 have an increased drowning risk and need attentive supervision in and around the water. Knowing the basics and understanding proper safety around open water is beneficial for everyone.
The Niagara region offers a wide variety of resources and programs aimed to teach young and old the basics of water safety. In association with the Lifesaving Society of Ontario these programs work to prevent drowning and water-related injury through the training programs, Water Smart® public education, safety management services, drowning prevention research and lifesaving sport.
The Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Program stresses lots of in-water practice to develop basic swim skills and strokes. The Swim for Life Program incorporates Water Smart education that will last a lifetime. The levels are designed to cater to the swimmer’s ability and skill level while challenging them to improve.
